Inward Swinging Door Barricade for Home, Office, School or any commercial Building

The Rampart's unique design allows for quick securement of any door that opens inward such as an office or the front door of your home. The design works with any door opener including knobs, handles, and hooks.

Jamming a door and preventing entry with a security door brace can be difficult when dealing with different floor surfaces. The Rampart utilizes a particular type of rubber that is designed to work effectively on all floor surfaces including carpet, wood, tile, and linoleum. Schools and commercial buildings in all 50 states use the Rampart. Many states have added The Rampart door brace to their approved lockdown door stops list.

The Rampart FAQ

Does Purchasing or Storing The Rampart Violate Fire Code?

The Rampart is not a permanently mounted deadbolt, so the purchase or presence of The Rampart is not a fire code violation. Deploying the device onto a doorknob or handle can be a fire code violation in some states, which is why it must only be used during life-threatening active shooter/violent intruder situations. Many states have “approved” device lists posted for active shooter safety devices.

Do we need to make any installations or modifications to the door or any other parts of a building's structure?

No, The Rampart is an aluminum rod that slips under a door handle or knob. Because the product exists independently of the door and any of its hardware, no modifications are needed for the door or structure. That means no drilling, cutting, or installation of new hardware. In the case of doors rated as fire barriers, modifications are illegal, so The Rampart would still work.

How durable is The Rampart?

The Rampart is made of solid, 3030 aluminum extrusion that is rolled into two interlocking pieces. Those two pieces are then secured with a slide-through pin ensuring there will not be a “slippage” of parts when put under stress.

Can The Rampart be removed quickly if an evacuation is necessary?

Yes, an advantage of The Rampart is that it can be applied or removed in seconds. Several nationally recognized training instruct the use of cords and belts being tied in knots to secure a door. Not only is this ineffective, but it is also extremely time-consuming to apply and remove. All it takes is a slight kick to the back of The Rampart foot to disengage the product.

Where should we store The Rampart?

How prominently The Rampart is displayed in your room will be up to your district or building. We do offer a very inexpensive hanger for The Rampart that most customers affix to the wall behind the inward swinging door.

Can I secure the door with The Rampart if my door is unlocked?

Absolutely, as long as your door has a knob or handle attached to it. A benefit the Rampart provides is that anyone, not just a person with a key, can secure the door. Additionally, because the door is secure from the inside, the individual does not have to risk being in the hallway during an active shooter situation. We always recommend that customers test the fit and securement of each Rampart for each door to ensure proper functioning.

How long can I expect to receive my order?

We do our best to provided shipment of product 2-3 days after order placement. Most of the time we can ship the same or next day after order placement.

Could a someone lock you out from entering a room?

Unfortunately, there is always a potential for misuse. In our almost five years of existence (with tens of thousands of units sold) we have not had a reported case of misuse of The Rampart. However, educating yourself and others on the appropriate use of The Sleeve will be the best way to eliminate misuse.

Will The Rampart work on doors without door closers?

Yes. No door closer required.

Are You Prepared?

Every 13 seconds, a home intrusion occurs.

Over 2.5 million break-ins per year in the United States. 60 percent of burglars use forcible entry to gain access to a home.
